Celebrities weigh in on the South African xenophobia madness

Some media reports had linked Prophet Omale to the embattled former acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, over a foreign property.

In a statement sent to journalists on Wednesday, July 15, the chairman of the forum, Comrade Prince Kpokpogri, said that Prophet Omale is a pastor and a shepherd with a flock of all shades and colours.

“Omale is a credible person and he is completely apolitical. Omale has no personal link with Ibrahim Magu other than a pastor to member relationship so, those allegations are baseless yet highly provoking,“ he added.

The statement added that the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and the Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) have not released any statement suggesting that there is a link between Magu and Omale.

“Journalists must desist from spreading falsehood rather focus on the promotion of the ethics of this fine profession,“ Prince Kpkpogiri said.

Recall that Prophet Omale sued a news agency for N1 billion over a news report claiming he helped Magu buy a property in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

In a letter written by his lawyer, Chief Gordy Uche (SAN), the revered prophet described the report as malicious, derogatory, and libellous prompted by malice.

Omale's counsel went on to note that the report is calculated to ridicule his client and cast a stain on his reputation as well as injure his religious calling as a respected general overseer.

He also refuted claims that his client has laundered funds for Magu, adding that he does not own any foreign bank account.
