The festival, slated to be held from September 10 to 19, also announced film stars like David Oyelowo, Priyanka Chopra, Nicole Kidman, Ava DuVernay amongst many others.

According to the festival, many of the ambassadors will engage with audiences through interactive digital experiences and events.

Talking about the festival, Geoff Macnaughton, senior director of Industry & Theatrical, TIFF, said:

"In a time of disruption, professionals from around the world still look for occasions to come together, share innovative ideas, buy and sell content, and find creative ways to collectively forge ahead towards a safer, healthier, and inclusive future. This year, delegates can expect to find community, connection, inspiration, and talent the foundation that will serve as the way forward."

Genevieve is no doubt carving a niche for herself.

Only a month ago, the prolific actress was invited to join the Oscars voting body. The Oscars had been trying to diversify their Academy members after they came under backlash for being ‘so white’.

Only a while ago, Genevieve recently caused a buzz on social media following her statement about feminism.

In a quote shared by The Guardian, the actress said feminism is human rights to her. According to the award-winning actress, she has the right to do whatever she wants to do - the same way a man exercises his rights.
