With less than twenty-four hours to the Edo state governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sent a crucial message to its staff.

In a statement on Friday, September 18, signed by the commission's chairman Mahmood Yakubu, INEC expressed hope that its staff "will rise to occasion" and give a level ground to all the political parties and candidates partaking in the guber poll.

Yakubu, who emphasised that all eyes are on INEC, charged the commission' staff to make sacrifices in carrying out their duties.

"We must ensure that no political party or candidate is accorded any advantage over the other. We must be neutral at all times and stick strictly to our Code of Conduct and Oath of Neutrality to which we have all subscribed.
