The Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the countries in the world blessed with abundant mineral resources but despite this reality, the country has been enmeshed in poverty and war.
According to Africa Facts Zone, Congo has the most mineral resources in the world. The country's raw minerals are worth $24 trillion.

In a report by the World Bank, Congo's poverty rate as at 2018 was 72%. This means 72% of the population was living in extreme poverty on less than $1.90 a day.
With its mineral resources, Congo should be one of the richest countries in the world.

In other news, Baraka Safari Elie, a 23-year-old man from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has invented first-ever made-in-Congo rechargeable iron.
It took 8 months of trials to make sure that the rechargeable iron could work properly, How Africa reports. Legit.ng notes that the inventor, who is the director of BANZELA, said the iron can last for three hours without electricity.
