A Nigerian lady, Juliet Ike Chiamaka, has contributed greatly to the country during her compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service.
On Monday, October 12, the lady said that one of her several goals for the programme was to complete a personal Community Development (CDS) project.
Chiamaka said that when she learnt about her deployment to Kebbi, she was very sad because she just did not want to go to the north.
Before leaving for the orientation camp, the lady planned on working her deployment to another state. Her feelings, however, later changed.
On getting to her primary place of assignment, a school, she noticed the decrepit nature of the whole environment and the worrisome situation of the kids as they went around in bathroom slippers.
The lady said she is happy was able to fulfill her goal to help.

After spending some time with them, she got to know about other pressing problems like the lack of structures and the negligence of the female child by their parents.
Before completing her service, she was able to rebuild their kitchen that was earlier swept away by rain and provided some respite for the kids.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that an NYSC member with the Twitter name Leche Winfred Maagawa used her service year to make her immediate community better.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, September 19, the corps member posted that she is a 2019 batch C member who is serving in Bauchi state.
She said she saw that children sat on the floor to learn in a government school in the state and to come to their aid, she had to make 50 desks for them.
She attached four different pictures to her tweet. The first frame shows the student learning as they sat on the bare floor, while other pictures showed her posing with the desk.
