Her husband, Mark Odigie, an information technologist explained that he had taken her to work that morning where she worked as a co-host of the popular breakfast talk show, YourView, and he decided to wait for her as she would be through in a matter of hours.

It was while he was waiting that the mob gained entrance into the building, wielding weapons such as machetes, axes, knives, and sticks.

According to him, the hoodlums looked sophisticated and spoke fluent English. He also mentioned that the men were really clear about what they came for.

He stated that before the attack, there were about four RRS (Rapid Response Squad) vans and close to 20 police officers within the compound, but the moment the boys came in, the officers simply took to their heels and disappeared.

He further said that after he had waited without hope of his wife escaping the violence, he approached the police officers who had gathered on the CMD road to watch the smoke from the burning building, and sought their help to rescue his wife. His plea fell on deaf ears.

He continued that he eventually begged a few TVC workers who were also at the CMD gate, and some of them summoned courage and went in with him. Inside, they saw hundreds of the attackers who shouted at them and asked who they were.

He also said that they raised their hands and replied that they were with them and needed to get some of their colleagues who were still in the building, and to their surprise, the hoodlums replied that they had rescued everybody and were not interested in killing anyone.
