EXPOSED: I Was Taken To A Shrine To Swear Oath Of Allegiance To Orji Kalu While I Was His Deputy Governor (Details below)
Senate minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has made a stunning revelation about his time as Deputy Governor to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu while he served as Governor of Abia State between May 29, 1999 and March 2003.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, lawmaker claimed he was taken to a shrine to swear an oath of loyalty 24 hours before the inauguration in 1999.
He disclosed this in his new book, ‘Made in Aba’ which was launched in Abuja on Monday.
According to the politician, Kalu’s younger brother and another chieftain took him to a prophet on School Road, Aba, in Abia state.
Abaribe said: “In my case, on the night before swearing into office, the then Aba North local government chairman informed me that Kalu’s people were not comfortable with me as I had not sworn to anything.”
Meanwhile, Kalu has urged the people of the southeast to join the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Kalu in a tweet on Monday, January 18, said the APC’s ongoing registration of new members and re-validation of old membership affords an opportunity for Igbo people to join the winning team.
The lawmaker suggested that joining the party is beneficial because the APC is committed to a united and indivisible Nigeria.
Recall that Kalu had in 2020 alluded to the Igbo race being sidelined since the creation of Nigeria, claiming that the Igbo people were not consulted to ascertain whether they wanted to be part of the amalgation that birthed Nigeria.
