Onazi : We will surpass past World Cup record

Midfielder  Ogenyi Onazi is in Midfielder  Ogenyi Onazi is in  dreamland following the qualification of the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium at the weekend.


The former Lazio holding defender, was injured in the first half and had to be replaced by  Mikel Agu in the weekend’s  2018 FIFA World Cup game against Zambia.And speaking with Sports Vanguard  after the tension soaked encounter, Onazi expressed delight that Nigeria  were finally through to Russia 2018, adding that the target of the team  in Russia was to surpass Nigeria’s best record, which is the second  round.

“I am extremely delighted to qualify for the World Cup, which we hope  will be Nigeria’s best in terms of record and performance.”, Onazi said.He added that, “I  felt sad  to come out but was hopeful that the  team will win”.
