Steward bank officials accused of spinning clients money

AN ENGINEERING COMPANY in Bulawayo Ball Joints has accused the Econet subsidiary Steward Bank's employees of possibly spinning clients' money amid revelations the company banked its money one and a half months ago but still it is not reflecting in the company's account.

Ball Joints official Ephraim Makara said his company banked its money with Steward in Bulawayo more than a month ago only to date to be told the money was not entered into the its account and there was no clear action being taken to rectify the anomaly.

"We banked the money and now it is like we have no money because we can not access it when the account does not show that we have it," he said.

"we have approached them several times and there is not positive action. We doubt if this is the failure of such a reputable bank, but this might be the work of employees who might be spinning our money with the hope of punching figures into our account later."

Makara said this means that it can not be only his company that has suffered such a set back but there are a number of them.

Efforts to get comment from Steward Bank were fruitless.
