The people of Mthwakazi deserve REST from the oppression they have been subjected to since the so called Zimbabwe independence; Mthwakazi deserve REST from tears of the years crying for the loved ones who were butchered during the Matabeleland genocide and indeed the people of Mthwakazi deserve REST from occupation by Mashonaland.
The gospel of Restoration has reverberated across the green valleys and blue mountains of Mthwakazi and the majority have received it with open hearts, open arms and open minds, they know that their salvation as a people lies in the restoration of Mthwakazi as an independent and sovereign state. MRP has skilfully tapped into this growing desire for self-determination and packaged it into a practical and easy to understand programme of action which sets to change the political landscape for ever and transform the misfortunes of Mthwakazi people into fortunes and opportunities of life. This will surely be true empowerment in all spheres of life.
Before I began to read the MRP manifesto, I closed my eyes and put myself in the shoes of all Mthwakazians home and abroad and listed my top five wish list or priorities which I wished MRP manifesto to address. These were on my top five wish list: freedom, physical and cultural genocide; economic emancipation; education, language and culture and finally the return of exiles.
I have to say that I haven't finished reading their manifesto, but from what I have read thus far, all my proposed wish list items have been met except one, which is the return of exiles. This clearly shows that a great deal of careful thought was put into researching and compiling the manifesto. Their manifesto is likely to stand the test of time and withstand any negative scrutiny. This shall be regarded by ZANU and its agents as the most dangerous manifesto ever written, yet it shall be considered by all Mthwakazi citizens as the most radical, revolutionary and thought provoking manifesto on the land. The manifesto breathes life and confidence into the hearts and minds of the Mthwakazi people.
The MRP has coined a sellable developmental programme which they have termed Mthwakazi Development Master Plan whose components comprises of REST elements. The MRP sees its mission as to occupy, control and defend the Mthwakazi political and economic space chiefly from ZANU but also from other parties such as the MDC. The MRP sees its approach of elections as practical measures, tactical and strategic in its own right. They will be contesting local and parliamentary elections but only in Mthwakazi.
They feel that the elections will be a mini-referendum for the restoration agenda. Maybe the MRP needs to re-think this focus, however, in the main people have earnestly, eagerly and enthusiastically welcomed the manifesto.
