Tendai Mada bared it all at the Harare Civil Court in his quest for a peace order against his father-in-law, Simbarashe Samombe who he also accuses of insulting him.
"Samombe is my in-law and I respect him so much but he causes havoc whenever he visits my place of residence with his brothers.
"I have been married to his daughter for a year now but they expect me to have finish bride price by now.
"He demands lobola each time he sees me and the whole neighbourhood is aware that I haven't paid lobola for my wife.
"I only paid $20 as tsvakirai kuno and told them that I will pay the remaining since I don't have any source of income now."He also sends text messages threatening to kill me if I do not pay lobola. I am now living in fear your worship," he said.
In response, Samombe was opposed to the application.
"He is a liar, they are married for three years now and he hasn't paid anything to us but he abuses our child.
"I haven't demanded lobola nor insulted him. I just discouraged him from abusing my daughter and I also reminded him to pay lobola.
"I have nothing against my son-in-law but he has to respect me," said Samombe.
Presiding magistrate Lazini Ncube granted the peace order in Mada's favour.
