Fighting corruption is everyone's child

The 'corrective' austerity measures occasioned by the on going reforms can pull Zimbabwe out of the black hole we find ourselves in. It was never going to be easy turning back our fortunes after corruption had become an economy on its own.

To date the repercussions of brown envelopes at V.I.D are still with us as the road carnage continue to maim and kill.

Drivers' licences were being issued to half-baked motorists who can hardly differentiate a hand-brake from a spare wheel. Most police officers had all turned into highway cashiers harvesting where they did not sow. The 'clean up' is not easy neither do results come pronto.

News emanating from Zinara carry a strong stench of untamed corruption, all eyes are watching to see what happens next. It would be magic to see big fish escaping through the nets where kapenta fish are caught. Zimbabwe has the potential to be the jewel of Africa. Our nation is home to plenty high grade diamonds and other minerals.

We have wonderful hard working farmers who can fill all our silos in one season. Smokers the world over have inhaled from our golden leaf, courtesy of our experienced tobacco farmers.

Let's give the new dispensation chance to turnaround the economy. Dialogue can accelerate the pace of recovery not grandstanding, posturing and a holier than thou attitude. Stop corruption now.

Thomas Murisa. Chiweshe.
