Breaking: Zimbabwe hikes passport fees

Government has with immediate effect hiked passport fees in a development that would see Zimbabweans paying $150 for an ordinary passport up from $53.

An emergency passport will now cost $600, an increase from $263. This was announced by Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe during a post Cabinet briefing in Harare on Tuesday evening.

Zimbabwe has a huge backlog of passports but Government says it has found strategies to reduce the backlog in the next six months.
