Examination fees reversal welcome move; now to scraping them

The National Association of Non Governmental Organisations (NANGO) has reported that every Child In School (#ECIS) Campaign is pleased by the response the minister of Primary and Secondary Education Cain Mathema has given to their and the many other voices that spoke against the increase in examination fees for Ordinary and A' Levels.

The Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council had recently announced the increase in examination fees across the board much to the parents'  chagrin.

"We appreciate the swift move in respond to the press statement that we released yesterday calling for the revoking of the examination fees. We also asked the government to scrap the examination fees altogether," NANGO reported.

"The examination board last week had announced that; Ordinary level examination fees per subject for private and non private shall be $190 up from  $15. Advanced level students will have to pay  $351 up from $26."
