BULAWAYO Residents have expressed concerns over the persisting water crisis in the City's whilst highlighting that the City should have a disaster management team to deal with the water crisis.

Bulawayo City Council (BCC) recently introduced a six day water shedding program.

Bulawayo United Residents Association (BURA) Chairperson Winos Dube said Its the introduction of the six day water schedule in Bulawayo is like adding salt to this painful wound.

"Our people are in a serious situation with Covid 19 worsening the situation since people cant  go about their businesses in the informal trading," said Dube.

"What worries most is, water problem in Bulawayo is not new, the question is why do authorities even at government level wait for crises to start acting."

Dube said Bulawayo should always have disaster management plan in place especially regarding water issues.

"Every time we are in a crisis we hear monies and this and that being done, but whatever is being done during the period in not visible there after," said Dube.
