Teachers against school re-opening

Teachers unions have called on Government not to reopen schools after the country recorded a spike in coronavirus cases.

ZIMTA secretary general Tapson Sibanda said that reopening schools could worsen the spread of the coronavirus particularly in the absence of testing equipment.

PTUZ secretary general Raymond Majongwe said the shock increase in cases must be a wake-up call for the government not to re-open schools early adding that reckless bravery will lead to a complete disaster.

The unions recently petitioned government laying out strict measures for schools re-opening.
