Police arrest 23 people who escaped from Coronavirus centres

Zimbabwe Republic Police has announced that it has arrested 23 of the 148 people who escaped from various quarantine centres across the country.

In a statement issued on Friday ZRP said, "We are urging the public to report all suspected escapees who might have joined communities without following/completing the COVID 19 screening process designed for returnees by the Government. Information may be passed to the COVID 19 information centre on telephone."

On Thursday ZBC reported that some returnees have escaped from Mkoba Teacher's College Covid-19 Quarantine Centre amid indications that some of them are ex-convicts returning home from South Africa.
