Shadowy organisation mobiles thousands to invade Thabani Mpofu's court hearing

A new shadowy lobby group calling itself the Chapter 2 Movement is reported to rallying Zimbabweans to besiege the magistrate courts on Wednesday morning to demand the unconditional release of Advocate Thabani Mpofu who is being charged with defeating or obstructing the course of justice.

The group which claims to derive its existence from Chapter 2 of the national constitution says the detention and arrest of Thabani Mpofu is against the national objectives enshrined in Chapter 2 of the National Constitution.

A statement issued by the group alleged that President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government has gone rogue and called upon the masses to stand for their rights.

In the statement, the group threatened to hold flash demonstrations in different cities Mnangagwa was removed from office.

Meanwhile, Thabani Mpofu will spend another night locked up at Rhodesville Police Station cells after police failed to bring him to court Tuesday.
