Mthuli raises $500 million in treasury bill sales

Zimbabwe has raised $500 million in TB auctions that it will use to help combat the spread of the coronavirus. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said government aimed to raise $1 billion in emergency coronavirus funding with the rest expected to come from insurance and pension funds.

Ncube also said the country recorded a $78 million budget surplus to April against a planned $3.6 billion deficit. He said in the four-month period, revenue was at $18 billion against expenses of $17.9 billion.
