My views on the 31 July demo

Those who follow my articles know very well that am in serious and full support of the 31 July as it is an action that has nothing to do with ZANU, MDC, or ZUM. It is an action that is learnt to address the issues of corruption and looting which are affecting every citizen in the country or outside.

However, am very much concerned with the politicians who are trying to hijack this noble initiative and as we have seen in the social media the tags like #Zanu must go on 31 July, and also ED must go this is now political as opposed to citizen concern. Citizens have the right to protest under the constitution but l have seen protest learnt to bring regime change very divisive and unsuccessful, Why? because already our country is polarized divided politically and in this, all ZANU supporters who make 2.4 million will simply pull out of the initiative coz they cannot support an initiative that seeks to remove their govt.

I am of the view that govt actions affect both ZANU, MDC Zum, and whichever irregardless of political affiliation so we should focus on things that will unite us as a citizen and bring our govt to account without seeking regime change for now.

If the demo is tagged #Zanu must go then expect a counter-demo by Gomwe and his colleagues in which they will come out infill force #INSOLIDARITYWITHED is that what we want as Zimbabwe right now ?? NO.

My advice to the organizers and the opposition is "POLITICIANS PLEASE HANDS OFF OUR CITIZEN MOVEMENT SUPPORT FROM THE TERRACES WE DONT NEED YOU IN FRONT THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL ACTION BUT A CITIZEN MOVEMENT NOT AIMED AT RÉGIME CHANGE BUT ON BRINGING THE GVT TO ORDER".
