One person died at the 95 kilometer peg along Mazowe- Centenary road and eight other passengers were injured and admitted at St Alberts Mission.
The other person died on the spot in a hit and run accident at 60 kilometer peg along Mvurwi-Kanyemba highway.
Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the cases which were both as a result of speeding.
"I can confirm two fatal road accidents one at 95 kilometer peg along Centenary-Mazowe road where Patmore Ngoshi (23) died on the spot and the other at 60 kilometer peg where Regis Chakwesha (36) was hit and run and died on the spot by a White Nissan NP 300," Dhilwayo said.
Allegations at the 95 kilometer peg are that the now deceased Ngoshi parked his Nissan Atlas AFH -7217 truck on the opposite lane and a speeding BMW being driven by Agatha Chiumbura failed to slow down and collided with the truck killing Ngoshi on the spot and injuring 8 passengers in the truck.
The injured passengers were rushed to St Alberts mission hospital where they are being treated.
Police warned drivers to travel at safe speed and stop when they hit passengers to render assistance.
